Congratulations to Mia Quintana and Marian Carbajal, two undergraduate students in our lab who received awards at the SDSU Student Symposium (S3).

Mia and Marian conducted research on the Conmigo study as part of the SDSU Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) and were two of six students in the REACH lab who presented at S3.

Mia received the Undergraduate Research Excellence Award for her poster The Role of Mothers in Preadolescent Latinas’ Healthy Eating Behaviors.

Marian received the Hispanic Serving Institution Award for her poster Effects of a Latina mother-daughter physical activity program on mother-daughter relationships; the Office of HSI and Regional Affairs Student Research award goes to the top student whose research contributes to the commitment to honor our designation as an HSI.

We are so proud of our students for their participation and accomplishments!
