Bio
Cristina is a recent graduate of the Master’s of Public Health program with an emphasis in Health Promotion Behavioral Science at San Diego State University. In her current position as a research assistant, Cristina leads outreach and data collection events within the San Diego community while contributing to both quantitative and qualitative evaluation processes.
Beyond her role at the Institute for Community and Behavioral Health, she also serves as a Graduate Student Ambassador for the County of San Diego Behavioral Health Services, actively participating in county-wide initiatives aimed at promoting mental health and substance use prevention resources through diverse channels such as community events and media campaigns.
Additionally, she is engaged in the Future Leaders program for the Western Region Public Health Training Center. Cristina’s research interests lie in addressing health disparities prevalent in border communities along the San Diego-Tijuana border, with a focus on formulating effective health promotion strategies to enhance both short- and long-term health outcomes.
