Bio
Andrew is a first-year student in the Master’s in Psychology program at San Diego State University with an emphasis in Physical and Mental Health research. He completed his B.A. in psychology at California State University Northridge and gained strong research training through programs like BUILD PODER and the Summer Training Academy for Research Success at UC San Diego. His primary research interest lies in examining the impact of physical injury on mental health, particularly in marginalized communities, with a focus on how this relationship is moderated by sociodemographic characteristics and how stigma affects mental health help-seeking behaviors in the Latino community. After earning his master’s degree Andrew plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
