The Research for Equity and Community Health (REACH) Lab is a diverse multidisciplinary team of students and researchers from the departments of psychology and public health.

Under the leadership of Dr. Elva Arredondo, our lab’s research aims to reduce health disparities affecting our community. We conduct community-based research, develop and test culturally tailored behavioral health interventions, and work to understand and ensure sustainment of these programs for community benefit.

Our research recognizes and targets multiple levels of influence (e.g. individual, interpersonal, family, community, etc.) and incorporates theory- and evidence-based strategies to enhance intervention effectiveness. We partner with local community organizations such as churches, schools, and YMCAs to reach individuals and families in their trusted spaces.

We are a multidisciplinary team with background and expertise in Psychology, Public Health, Latin American Studies, and Dissemination & Implementation Science. We use qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods to that works at the intersection of health psychology, behavioral science, and dissemination & implementation science to conduct cutting edge research that has a lasting impact on our communities.
