Bio

Jackie is a second-year doctoral student in the Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology at San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego in the behavioral medicine track. She completed her Master’s in Psychology at San Diego State University. Jackie’s research interests lie in addressing disparities in access to health services for underserved communities, particularly rural and Latine communities. She is currently leading a project focused on adapting the Fe en Acción program, a church-based physical activity program, to rural Latine settings. She has also led the implementation component of Fe en Acción, involving the development of training materials to empower promotoras and engage faith-based organization leaders in the program.
